During this time there is a lot of healing, learning, and sleepless nights. It is difficult to adjust during this time when you don’t know what to expect.

I have come up with a list of products that I think are great postpartum essentials for moms during this fourth trimester, that’s the postpartum period.
I really hope this list of postpartum essentials help you transition from expecting mom to a new mom in an easier and enjoyable way.
There are some women who like it but others don’t. there are so many benefits of belly binding, first being a great help in diastasis recti. This happens from the uterus growing and stretching out the abdominal muscles.
I really suffered from diastasis recti for a long time before I seriously learned some exercises to reduce them. But you don’t have to be like me.
Another benefit is that it provides lower back and pelvic support. When using a belly binder, corset or belly wrap you are putting less pressure on your lower back but on your hips, pelvis and ribs to help go back to its pre-pregnancy state.
It is recommended that women wear a belly wrap for four to six weeks after delivery and for at least 10 hours to reap maximum benefits.
After delivery you will have lochia, which is heavy vaginal bleeding from uterus lining and it lasts about two weeks or as long as six weeks. Please don’t use tampons during this time.
I highly recommend moms to either create their own padsicles when they get home so you can purchase some good quality pads and prepare them and have ready in your freezer. I highly recommend buying some cooling pads as well.

You can change your padsicles as often as you would like. It’s up to you. You can prepare around 20 padsicles to use right after your delivery and more if you need them later.

You want to make sure you stock up on 5-7 nursing bras or tanks when you have your baby. You will be leaky so it’s nice to have extra support.
They are really comfortable and easy to sleep in.

Having a few pairs of cute maternity loungewear will allow comfort and breathability during your recovery period.
It’s also nice to have a couple of options when you have your friends or family members stopping by to see you and your baby.
A postpartum doula is someone who is trained to help you through this transitioning period of having a baby in your family. This is the time you need her the most.
You’ll need to rest and recover physically after birth and mentally and emotionally as well. This is what I was really thankful of, when I came to know about it during my first pregnancy. I had a good supply of milk and obviously it’s unrealistic to think that we can feed our baby all the time. I definitely needed to catch some sleep, do some errand and sometimes my baby used to sleep and I wasn’t able to feed.
Thank goodness we have breast pumps so that women can still feed their babies later and it’s great for women who can’t nurse but wants to give their breastmilk to their babies.

Breast milk bags
If you plan on pumping from the beginning, you’ll have to store it as well. It is much easier to store your breast milk in a breast milk bag. These are super important if you have over-supply issues from the beginning.
Never pump and through away your breast milk. You don’t know when you might have an unexpected dip in your supply and you need to look for it in your freezer.

Breastfeeding was honestly the most difficult part of postpartum period because my daughter had difficulty in latching and by that time I had no idea what a nipple shield is and how to work on a perfect latch.

Babywearing is my favorite and I loved carrying my babies around. There are literally so many benefits of babywearing for you and your baby. You can’t expect to hold your baby every time he or she needs you. There are so many times when you need both of your hands-free to do some other stuff around the house.
That’s the time when babywearing can become your best friend. I have worn both of my babies and I can promise there are many benefits other than your hands being free. Lots Of Snacks
Yes, honestly, lots of snacks! Now by snacks I don’t mean random junk food, but good healthy snacks that will heal your body and provide you nutrition at the same time.
I must eat food rich in vitamins, protein and healthy fruits and vegetables. Make healthy choices during this time and you will thank yourself for the rest of your life.
If you’re breastfeeding, you will need more nutrition than ever to give your body energy and to produce milk. Keep in mind that some foods boost milk supply (almonds, oats, etc). I had fruit snacks stashed in my bedside table for this reason.
And, honestly, if you don’t decide to breastfeed, you need some extra snacks on hand.
I have discussed this is so many of my articles, how important, frugal and time-friendly it is to stock up food, especially when you’re a mom.
During your postpartum period, or let’s say around at least 3 months after your delivery, you’ll not be cooking as much food as you used to. You will have your baby to look after, yourself to look after and your home to look after.
When you’re up every 2-3 hours feeding your little one, it may seem like this period you’re in will never end.
Stock up! This is a great suggestion I can give you. Other than this, ask your family or a friend if they are willing to provide you some help.
